Donato

The album "Donato," released by Jasmin Music and produced by Leila Pinheiro and Ricardo Bacelar, celebrates the legacy of the iconic composer João Donato, who passed away in 2023 and would have turned 90 in August 2024. With an intimate approach, the project presents new interpretations of 12 of Donato's songs, including classics like "A Rã," "Lugar Comum," and the previously unreleased "Contas de Vidro," in a piano and voice format.

Recorded live at Jasmin Studio, the album features the special participation of cellist Jaques Morelenbaum, whose collaborative arrangements add deep and sensitive textures to selected tracks. The sound reflects the duo's respect and dedication in exploring new harmonic paths for celebrated works, offering the audience a "new photograph" of Donato's music.
